To enable the trees to be easily netted to protect them from bird damage and also to maximise the number of trees we can plant we have decided to espalier the trees using the 'knees, navel, nipples and nose method' developed by Bog Magnus of Woodbridge Fruit Trees. 'Knee's means that the first wire is at the height of your knee, the second wire is at the height of your navel etc.
